Stephanie Dohm
Narrow Dog Pottery
Stephanie Dohm is the ceramic artist behind Narrow Dog Pottery, a small-batch pottery studio based in Lakewood, Ohio. While her creative background includes mixed media, painting, knitting, and sewing, it was a serendipitous gift — a free, fixer-upper kiln from a local Buy Nothing group — that sparked her journey into ceramics in 2020. What began as a long-held love for pottery quickly evolved into a dedicated, full-time practice.
Working from her home studio, Stephanie crafts functional stoneware pieces through a combination of wheel-throwing, hand-building, and slip casting. Her ceramics are designed for everyday use, and with the exception of gold-lustered items, all pieces are food, microwave, and dishwasher-safe.
The name Narrow Dog Pottery is a heartfelt nod to the greyhounds that are part of her family — and their graceful forms often find their way into her textured designs. Though she doesn’t work with a specific conceptual message, Stephanie’s pieces are infused with a simple, joyful spirit. She creates objects that bring her happiness, with the hope they’ll do the same for those who use them.
