Margaret Nagel

Once M.C. Nagel acquired foundational artistic skills, she quickly transitioned from strict realism to a more personal manipulation of reality. A wide variety of ideas motivate her work, though the process behind them can be difficult to describe.

She describes the experience as feeling "patched into an alignment with the Universe’s Data Bank of all ideas." Almost meditative, ideas emerge seemingly out of nowhere and take over, compelling her to visually “talk to” the public. These ideas often evolve through both 3D forms and 2D surfaces. When it's time to shift creative gears, a new idea surfaces—seemingly controlling her process—and she finds the experience both mysterious and thrilling.

M.C. Nagel is a fine artist based in Cleveland, Ohio. She produces paintings, drawings, and ceramic art from her pottery studio, workshop, and gallery space.
