Christy Gray

Christy Gray

Christy Gray is an accomplished artist whose practice has centered around the theme of water for nearly two decades, with a particular focus on containment, movement, and environmental interaction. Drawing inspiration from her experiences paddle boarding on lakes and rivers, Gray documents the horizon, surface reflections, and flowing motion — using photography as a springboard for her visual language. Her work reflects on the shapes of leaves, botanical forms, and natural patterns, translating them into sculptural jewelry and small-scale metalworks.

Working primarily in steel, silver, and powder coating, Gray blends natural forms with durable materials to create wearable art that extends beyond the confines of a jewelry box. Her pieces are both intimate and sculptural, functioning as adornment and standalone objects of art. Through a deliberate, meditative approach to metalworking, she brings the language of water, nature, and shadow into tactile, visual harmony.

Gray has been practicing art for over 30 years. She lives in Bay Village, Ohio, with her family and a spirited cat. In addition to her studio practice, she is the founder and director of Gray Haus Studios, an art consultancy that curates custom art collections for commercial and professional spaces.

Her work has been exhibited in both local and national juried shows and is part of several public and private collections. In Northeast Ohio, her pieces can be found at River Gallery Studios in Rocky River.
