Andrey Boltyansky
Swanky Bolt Studios
Andrey Boltyansky is a Cleveland-born photographer and the creative force behind Swanky Bolt Studios. With a life marked by curiosity and an ever-changing mix of interests—from rock climbing and motorcycles to reading and snowboarding—the one constant in Andrey’s world has always been the camera.
Raised in a home where photography was ever-present, Andrey’s early inspiration came from his father, who shot film on a Kiev 19 in the USSR and developed images in his bathtub. That legacy carried forward when Andrey received his first point-and-shoot as a child, and later, a Canon Rebel SL1 after graduating high school—an instrument that would spark a lifelong career. He’s been behind the lens for over 18 years and shooting professionally for more than eight.
Photography, for Andrey, is more than a career—it’s a deeply personal practice rooted in memory and emotion. Struggling with visual memory, he first picked up the camera as a way to document his travels to remote wilderness areas. What began as a tool to preserve landscapes transformed into a passion for storytelling—capturing the essence of place and moment in a way that helps both the artist and the viewer relive what was felt.
Andrey’s work spans personal projects and professional commissions, always driven by the same goal: to create photographs that evoke vivid emotion and preserve the authenticity of the subject—whether it’s a person, a place, or a fleeting moment.
He has been published in a range of independent art magazines and journals and continues to document the world around him with an eye for honesty, wonder, and human connection.
When he's not behind the camera, Andrey enjoys coffee, hot sauce, and spending time with his wife Emily—whom he met on Zoom during the pandemic—and their cat Juniper, who he found on the roof of a Thai restaurant.
