What started as a personal project quickly evolved into a mission. After struggling with headaches and asthma triggered by conventional candles, she took it upon herself to investigate the ingredients commonly used in store-bought varieties. What she discovered was troubling: many popular candles contained potentially harmful chemicals, including known carcinogens and irritants.

Motivated by both concern and curiosity, Alison began experimenting with soy wax, wood wicks, and natural fragrance blends. Her goal was simple—create a candle that could be enjoyed without worry. The result was a clean-burning, non-toxic candle that didn’t compromise on scent or style. Encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from friends and family, she officially launched Thrive & Shine just six months ago, bringing her handcrafted creations to a wider audience.

Today, Thrive & Shine Candles offers a line of hand-poured soy wax candles with wood wicks that produce a gentle, crackling sound—adding a cozy, sensory layer to any room. Free from known or suspected carcinogens and mutagens, Alison’s candles are designed to be safe for all, especially those prone to allergies, headaches, or respiratory issues.

In addition to candles, Alison has expanded the Thrive & Shine product line to include toxin-free, biodegradable room sprays. These skin-safe sprays provide a fresh, long-lasting aroma and align with the same core values: wellness, sustainability, and peace of mind.
